Air HQ effects

I aksed this before in the betty thread but it seems to have been lostin the shuffle. Does anyone know what the e3ffects are for having the air HQ in the same base as your main bombbing effort? I keep mine in Port Morsby and fly my B17s ouyt of there against Rabual mostly where the Japanese have the most planes stationed. Doesw this Air HQ give some special bonus to planes flying from the same base or does it have a radius effect as described vaguely in the manual? What benefit is there to these units?

They do indeed have an effect radius, and your squadrons will fly a lot more, but the exact effect escapes me right now. I'm thinking morale check bonus. Try searching. There've been several good threads about them.

Thx von murrin. Its frustrating to have to sask all these querstions but so much just isnt covered in the manual. I've gotten to where I constantly recheck what is in therejust to be sure and even the stuff that is cvovered in the manual isn't explained well often.

This is even more ridiculous. When I do a search for air HQ effects all I get for hits are the threads Ive mentioned it in. Come on doesnt someone from Matrix know the answers to these questions? Mogami where are you when I nedd you? :)

It is covered in the manual.

10.7 Air HQ's

Lack of one results in a 25% reduction of LBA strikes, 10% reduction of non-LBA strikes (the reduction is in number of aircraft that fly the mission)

Youre right MrFrag thx. I looked back again and sure enough its there in the manual. But I'd seen that before and then got confused when someone else wrote something about these HQs and I got the impresssion they gave some other kind of effect than is listed in the manual-which more or less just takes away the pnealty of not having a Hq.

Do you know if air HQs can be split up in a couple of parts and then used for the same bommb strike bonus at two differnt bases more than six hexes apart? For example could I put half the Hq in Morsby and the other half in Lunga and get the air HQ bonus in both bases?
