Need more in CSV ...

Post by MarkShot »

Like a summary of

AD type
Hex
Size
Planes
Loadouts

I have lots of DB experience. To really turn this from a log to something one can ask questions of, you will need qualifiers for the combat. The type of stuff that appears in the in game combat info box.

Then, you might ask questions like the impact of fatigue or experience. The impact of altitude. The impact of weapons load outs.

The ratio of equipment damage and versus production points and do such ADs return a positive ROI.

My point is this is a good start, the it is not enough for slicing and dicing data analysis.

Additionally, such information helps the developers test and build the game. As Roger was talking about history treated as theoretical physics with equations which then can be tested against experimental cases.

Well, it is a good start, but not enough for true data mining.

Thanks for the recommendation, but I own those books and Access/VBA.

I used both in the past which had bought 2010 a while back to do analytics on market data that no one had.

I was in my "investor phase". Sadly, I found out my talents lie in software and not the market. :(

In my opinion Access is a full IDE, with a powerful language, and RAD tools. You can start out with just a local database, and then later with ODBC hook up to Oracle which is what we had done. With it we did a number of firsts at NYMEX (New York Mercantile Exchange).

* The first distributed PC desktop application for clearing members.

* A meta data driven self configuring database tool for COBOL programmers which really boosted their productivity.

I have plenty of ideas for WITW/WITE2 utilities. I have already submitted the code for one and a sketch for another one (already running at home), and came up with yet a third concept today. They are all totally generic and intended to improve play QOL, and show off the game.

The one thing that POs me about Access 2010 is that RIBBON!!! I've been happy with the look of the UI, since XP.
