Oil Usage by Armour for Attacks

Post by canuckgamer »

I noticed that UK armour expends 3 oil per attack compared to German armour expending 2. Is this because the UK units are considered to be more motorized even though they both have 9 operational points.

Yes their oil use is different due to motorization.

I would need and explanation of this.

You are saying that the UK armor division has more motorized units than the German...yet somehow they can move the same distance?

That would make no sense at all.

IF you have less motorization then you have less movement.

German armor, no men on trucks.
UK/USA armor, men on trucks.

Yes they both get 9 opts. Tactically Germans were better than the Allies. So it is reflected abstractly by the same opts.

It is also a balancing mechanism on oil for the Allies for supply. More oil use means more supply use reflecting the troubles they had after invasions.

Balancing would make sense...

Saying that the men somehow can move on foot enough to keep up with tanks would not be.

Germany did have motorized divisions just less of them.

From all my reading they used a LOT of horse.
