Evacuated DEI air unit disappeared at surrender

Post by corsair883 »

DEI air superiority group was moved from Batavia to Darwin by the January 4th turn. DEI Palembang, Batavia, and 6th Garrison units were each evacuated to Australian ports. Turn was resolved to January 18th, during which the DEI surrendered. I now see the Garrison units in the UK deployment queue for February 1st. The DEI air unit disappeared from Darwin. It's not on the map or in any deployment queue - just gone on January 18th. What happened to it and why did I lose it? Thanks

Yes the surrendered. You don't get to keep them. Otherwise the Allied player would just move the Entire French air force to Europe in WPE. It is an exploitable mechanic thus air units have to surrender.

This has been a standard in WW2 grand strategy since the original Third Reich game.

Ok understood, thanks for the explanation. I don't have much experience as a strategy wargamer and couldn't find anything in the manual to explain it. Love the game
