Crash to desktop

When I try to launch the game, it immediately crashes to desktop. I am running on Win98, 512 ram, P4 2.0, NVIDIA GeForce MX 440. Updated DirectX to 9.0b, updated drivers on video card. I gather from other posts that I am not the first with problems with NVIDIA cards. Will the 1.1 patch address this problem? Are there any other workarounds?

Hi Stan,
Have you made sure you are up to date with all your drivers? I would be able to better diagnose the problem if you were to attach a dxdiag output file to a forum message or email to me. To create this go to start->run->dxdiag and there should be a save information button of the first screen that appears.

Got your message. I have been reinstalling my os due to hardware changes, and it will still be a few days before im completely back in business. Sorry for the delay.
