WWI Strategy Game Choice.

Post by Tailspintommy »

Is there a WWI strategy game out there which members would recommend?

Something as close as possible to an epic like "War in the Pacific", with depth and complexity beyond the front line fighting.

I've been looking around but nothing really stands out as being above the rest in terms of age and detail, except for Rise Of Flight, which is a flight sim and I already have it.

Maybe an older game with some excellent mods?? [&:] ....I'm more into a long campaign than individual scenarios or fictional battles.

Thanks. [:)]

Ageod’s To End All Wars, and the DLC Breaking the Deadlock, may be what you want I have them but I have not played them yet. Matrix sell it, but do your research first

When you are familiar with AGEOD leader portraits and unit graphics -not just about counters-, make sure you check their older games. WEGO turns also good against AI and in PBEM.

Yes, would second CTGW and the mod that budd suggests, plus the mod's creator (Robotron) is still active.. CTGW is a really fun game in MP.

I really like the Ageod game To End All Wars. I did an AAR on the Ageod forums. Played it through until the end. I have probably played it more than any other Ageod game and I have a lot of the Ageod games.

Guns of August was a really good game. When it came out, I played it a lot and greatly enjoyed it. I think I liked it more than Strategic Command WWI, though in general I really like the SC series of games and liked SC WWI.
