Corsairs

Post by robertkeller »

When I transfer a unit of 18 Corsairs, carrier trained, to a CV it counts as 60 planes, therefore reducing the # of planes the CV can carry significantly. For example, Sept. 1943 transferred VMF 216 to WASP and plane count jumped from 43 too 103. Any help would be appreciated.

You are using F4U-1 Corsairs, they are not carrier capable. You will have to wait until you get F4U-1a Corsairs.

Non "Carrier Capable" planes count an order of magnitude more towards a carriers aircraft onboard as counted. So your non "carrier capable" Corsairs counted as 60 aircraft toward the carrier's capacity.
