Historical question in main campaign - Operation Stosser

Decisive Campaigns: Ardennes Offensive is the fourth wargame in the Decisive Campaign series. Covering the battles in the Ardennes between December 1944 and January 1945, it brings to life Operational wargaming by lowering the scale to just above tactical level.

Historical question in main campaign - Operation Stosser

Post by Genosse »

Hello, congratulations on another typically excellent Decisive Campaigns release, I have really looked forward to this setting.

Question, in looking over the main Wacht am Rhein scenario, I see there is an Operation Stosser card to conduct the German airborne drop.

In looking at wikipedia, it suggests that this drop was delayed until the morning of the 17th, which I believe would historically place it on turn 5, and not T1 as I would have thought.

If I wish to simulate the historical jump and don't use the card on turn 1, will I retain it for future turns? Or is it intended as an opening turn ploy and I should just go ahead because it will disappear otherwise?

Thank You, it's a wonderful game!

Thank You for your reply and clarification, Davide!

Does this mean no cards ever disappear in general?

Once again, great work!
