Assistance to Peru?

Post by ThunderLizard11 »

This must be new in last patch. I accepted and it seems to be a dog for Axis. What am I missing?

It's not new but it may not always have been firing when intended before, so a change was made last month to its trigger conditions.

Details are as below:

DE 605 – Germany: Support Peru In Its War With Ecuador?
Event fires: From the 5th July 1941 providing Germany is Axis, Berlin is in Axis hands, Peru is pro-Axis
but neutral, and the USA has not yet fully mobilized.
Cost of accepting: 120 MPPs at 30 MPPs a turn for 4 turns.
Yes: Peru joins the Axis, 25% chance each turn, and deploys a strength 3 Corps. The USA swings 3-4% towards
the Allies and the Allies can blockade Peruvian ports.
No: There is a one time, 25% chance, that Peru may swing towards the Allies 50-70%.

Yeah I partly responsible to get this fixed in an earlier version. I had an elaborate gambit based on the Germans accepting this DEC..having Peru go Axis..and Japan invading and taking Chile in Aug 1941. Of course this would of increased the USA's mobilization moderately...but I wanted to create a huge diversion for them that they couldn't ignore (in an MP match of course).

I based this on the assumption and according to the Strategy Guide concerning DE 605, That this DEC would be presented 100% of the time to the Germans. Alas I found out later from Bill that it only fired 50% of the time.

To make a long story short..I had a task force with Gen. Homma on the way to South America..Had two German U-Boats off Lima...and when July 1941 came...NO DEC. Had to turn Homma and the TF around..and my German subs eventually circumnavigated the globe via Penang the onward on adventures off Africa and beyond. (They started in Greenland, went south and rounded the Horn, and parked of Peru before the DEC and my Gambit fizzled) haha.

I had went to the forum..strarted a thread concerning this DEC not firing...and later on Bill fixed it. [8D]

btw..Normally..as Axis..I would say NO to DEC 605...but I had a wild hair lets just say...and wanted to try a gambit. I called it the Peruvian Gambit. Would of had 4 ports in Chile, Japanese controlled...and could of shut down Panama. [:D]
