In Scenario 1, the only AE Japan has at-start is in Hiroshima

Japan doesn't get any AE, just AKE's, but there's only one to start. Another is set to convert rather quickly.

I sent the turn back to Mike yesterday morning and I'll get an update posted when I can. Things are getting more and more busy as we prepare for our move.

Not a ton of action this turn. Probably the most significant was the Dutch SS KX putting one torpedo into CA Chokai. Chokai was part of the Kaga/Ryujo TF. It will at least put her into the shipyards for a few weeks of repairs.

No advance across the causeway into Singapore yet. Looks like Mike is waiting for some reinforcements to arrive from Mersing first. I'm giving up the fight in the air here. Two squadrons of Vlidebeests and one Aussie fighter squadron are making their way toward Darwin via Java. Singapore only has a stockpile of 22k supplies and only 8k resources to make a few more. With no significant stockpile and only around 315 AV of ground fighting strength, it won't last long.

Wake Island fell today, but the Guam defenders held out for another day.

Off Suva, my naval search spotted the two AMCs that caused a headache a few turns ago. CA Pensacola is going to try to intercept them and a squadron of Marine Vindicators is on duty at Suva. Maybe I'll be able to pick them off.

A troop convoy carrying a Marine Defense Bn and some supplies left Pearl for Canton Island. I see it as the most exposed link in the island chain, so it will get the first reinforcements. Troops for Pago and Suva are gathering at San Francisco and Pearl.

even though Kaga will soon have to replenish her sorties and Torpedoes.

This is really not that hard to do. Check p288 of the manual for CAG Rearm. She may do her sorties at a level 1 port with as little as 99 Nav Supp. Torp's may be done with 297 Nav Supp., that's a bit over the number Japan gets in one Naval HQ. She has several Naval HQ's in the region. With some attention Mike will more than likely have a couple options as to where to Resup. After all he is a logistics guy.[:'(]

Off Suva, the Pensacola missed intercepting the two Japanese AMCs, likely due to bad weather grounding her search float planes. Fortunately, the Marine Vindicators spotted them and probably sank both. Dropping thousand pounders, they hit one 5 times and the other 2 times over the AM and PM phases. If they didn't go under, they won't get very far and should still be in range again tomorrow to finish them off.

The Rising Sun was hoisted over Shortlands today with no opposition. I need to try to get some combat ships over to the Solomons to maybe pick off one of these small landings that don't expect any opposition.

Mike still hasn't started moving into Singapore, Clark Field, or Manila yet.

The Houston/Boise SCTF has refueled and rearmed from support ships at Darwin and is moving back to Ambon Island. I spotted a small TF moving toward Sorong again. Even if I can't catch that TF in time, I would like to ambush one or two more of Mike's landing attempts before he brings in the Big Stick and I have to skedaddle.

Supplies are steadily being unloaded at Rangoon and slowly being drawn up the rail line to Mandalay and Lashio. Most of the transports are taking fuel out of Rangoon on the return trip.

My pace for flipping turns is slowing even more as my move approaches. We close in 3 weeks and most spare time is spent on arrangements and slowly packing.

I guess it is pretty well documented there, isn't it? [:D]

T Rav, I'm moving locally, about 20 miles, to a new house we are building. Closing date is 3 weeks from today! [8D]

Mike and I have played 2 more turns, but we are paused now that I'm only 1 week away from closing on the house and moving. Work has also been a bear as this is a crunch time of year and I'm about to be gone for a few days of Thanksgiving and then a week of moving. I hope to get things moving again about 2 weeks from now.

Until then, Wendy says, "Happy Thanksgiving!" [8D]

Hi all! The dust is settling nicely from the move and the last two weeks of crazy work for the year are behind me. I'm off until Jan 3rd and will finally get some time to relax and rest. Part of "relaxing", of course, will be getting our game moving again. Hope to have some updates to report in the next couple of days.

Merry Christmas, all!

Hi all, a couple of updates.

First, and most importantly, Wendy has become shy about making appearances on the forum. She doesn't want to get anyone in trouble, so she will be staying home with me, all safe and secure. She does send her love and the message to "Win it for Wendy!" [:D]

Second, after the false alarm over Christmas, the game is rolling again. I sent the turn off to Mike yesterday after spending a lot of time getting back up to speed on what's going on everywhere. I'll put together an update for the previous two turns soon.

DEC 16 & 17, 1941

On the 16th the only really notable events were Mike landing at Adak and a couple of PT boats hanging out at Tacloban in the PI putting a torpedo into CL Kuma. If I can't stop Mike's advances right now, at least I can be a constant nuisance. LOL

On the 17th Adak fell with no resistance. I had hoped to get a few forces there, but instead I'll focus on fortifying Dutch Harbor against any farther advance.

Mike dropped some paratroopers onto Temuloh in Malaya on the 16th, but I had an Indian Bde and an AA unit transiting the base. The AA guns did some damage to his transports and today a short deliberate attack by my Indian Bde wiped out the unlucky paras.

Mike also landed at Rabaul today. The CD guns put a few holes in one of his transports, but the place can't be held this early. Patrol planes have been evacuating most of the Lark Bn to Port Moresby, where they will embark on a transport for the hop over to Darwin.

USSAmerica: Mike landing at Adak...

No wonder he was MIA for a while! Bad time of year to go there!
