Amphibious operations

Post by CSO_Talorgan »

One or two hints and teasers in the Scenario Design wiki suggest that amphibious operations with boats might be possible.

Is this so?

Be assured that I am not thinking of recreating the Battle of Jutland!

There is mention here https://www.vrdesigns.net/dc/doku.php?i ... ile_editor of coastlines and here https://www.vrdesigns.net/dc/doku.php?i ... ary_editor of anti-ship and even anti-submarine combat.

For it to be possible though this https://www.vrdesigns.net/dc/doku.php?i ... ile_editor page would have to detail how new landscape types could be created; which it does not.

So maybe it's not possible, and your reaction suggests it isn't.

Nope no naval action planned. However amphibious landings by card is something i would want to make possible as it allows for some very interesting scenarios as sicily or dday. I have designed things in such a way that i can easily update libraries to give more functionality to modders.

Well that's good

Don't know if this is the right place for special requests, but the line of sight capability in Advanced Tactics Platinum would be very, very useful.

Update the VR Basic Library to v43. This allows you to use the Unit>ReinfCard Table to set up amphibious invasions by cards. Might require a short tutorial at some point. Anyway it is possible now.

Which tables to use from the basic library to create different reinforcement cards and card categories etc?
