Thank you very much, Andrew. I haven't been back in the forums for a few years now and hope to start a PBEM again using your new maps.
So much WitP and so little time to play.... :-(

I have finally added all of the updates and fixes for the official map into my extended map.

The latest version of the extended map, as well as a separate map data file that includes stacking limit data, can be downloaded from my WitP-AE website:

The link does not work, even when I copy it and paste it in the browser. Is the square bracket ] supposed too be there after the word map?

No everyone is. The Matrix forums are falling apart. Thank goodness they are upgrading:

Port Swettenham

I believe this was a major tin mine? Or I could be wrong.

Should some resources be moved there from KL, if it is included as a base/port?

Also what size port do people think? With only one other port on the railway on that side of Malaya (north of Singers/Johore), I am thinking it might be best to keep it to SPS 1. Thoughts?

Edit: apparently nowadays it is the 11th busiest container port in the world, but was it that big during the war?

A lot of the mining locations in the region had small ports, so yes, a level 1 port....GP

Some further searching turned up some photos - it has piers, cranes and the usual sort of facilites,so building it to 4 from an SPS of 1 (and dropping a base with nav support in) should be enough.

The second photo shows the "Swettenham Pier" at Penang (Georgetown in the game), not Port Swettenham.

I have found a History of Port Swettenham. It appears that at the time of WWII the port had wharf space for three coastal and two ocean-going vessels. Highest amount of yearly tonnage handled before WWII was less than 612.000 tons (in 1940), which gives a daily average of under 2000 tons. In AE, a size 1 port can handle max 2500 tons per day. So it seems the port size 1 is good.
