Custom Scenarios

Well, I happily took my initial design efforts offline - thank gosh - but good to see a discussion here. Best wishes!

If it is the scenario, you can upload it to the VRDesigns scenario bank.

It's great to have the ATG scenario creator legends here as well. I do wonder, if it would be feasible to join up and prepare maps, OOB, etc. for a Market Garden scenario project? What we'd need is one person who loves to create maps in DC:AO. Feedback, suggestions?

Lion of Judah really loves making maps. Unsure if he would be willing, but there is a suggestion. I could too, but I am a bit tied up with my 6th Army Campaign right now (for ATG). Maybe when that is done?

Maybe we'll find another volunteer for map making. Using the JTS Market Garden maps as templates would make it easier.😉

Hi Klaus !
6th Army Campaign is a great game, and must be finished !

I think i can help with the "Market Garden Project", give me some days and i upload the map !
I made a rough test map that need some fixing but is perfect to start the project.

The area around Arnhem is already good....

Excellent! The more people are getting interested in making a set of Market Garden scenarios the better. It would be a team effort after all. Some like creating maps, I like the OOB and TO&E research (well, I got most of the OOB already anyway from different games). The trickiest part would be the fine tuning with the libraries, event tables, officers etc. But once the map(s) is/are done, it's a start.

I would like to see this format and scale of play on the Eastern Front.

With editors and a full offering of units for the whole war and a complete overall map of the entire Eastern Front
the ability to recreate historical engagements would be epic.

Sounds like a commercial game.

What would you be willing to pay for it, and how long do you think it will take to develop?

Need some follower power to find somebody who's good in playing around graphics programs.
While brainstorming some ideas about potential scenarios, I'd require a 7,5cm FK 16nA or 7,5cm FK/38 graphics picture(s), some NATO symbols to represent Bridge Engineers (Brückenpioniere), Panzer Pioniere, SF/Kommando, Construction etc.

Any takers? Thanks in advance.

It would be a new game. I prefer the unit graphics and component breakdown. Again, with editors the ability to recreate "What If" scenarios across the entire Eastern Front and timescale 1945 thru 1945 would be epic.
Perhaps a number of scenario's and also the ability to create scenario's and then link them into a custom campaign would be feasible.
For instance you could follow Das Reich or the 1st SS Panzer Corps for a certain time period.

One reason I am so interested is the fact that Hitler wanted more Pz divisions so he cut the number of tanks in half. Guderian strongly disagreed.

1940 Pz TOE (Pz 1-5) was:
2- Armored Regiments and 1- Pz Grenadier Regiment

1941/2 Pz TOE (Pz 6-10) was;
1- Armored Regiment and 2- Pz Grenadier Regiments

It would be most interesting to see what would have happened if that had not been ordered.

It would be the Ultimate Eastern Front sandbox and I would pay for it.

Here are dropbox links to several scenarios. They are designed (using the word loosely) to be played vs the AI on challenging setting.

Although changes to the Libraries were made for the West Wall scenarios, it's probably best to just open those folders and download the scenario file only.

The goal here is to create free-flowing meeting engagements that allow the user access to a variety of units without the "burden" of supply/fuel handicaps. The exception is the "On to Dinant Axis" scenario, where the Axis player does attack.

The "real" goal here is to encourage our talented scenario designers to get some works-in-progress up on the web here or at VR Design's website to showcase the flexibility of the system and the adaptability of the AI when creating sandbox-type engagements. These offerings are really designed for beginning players only - in fact I'm embarrassed already.

I believe these links allow anyone to download, but I am unfamiliar with the "new" dropbox criteria, so let me know...

(Dropbox links omitted)

Your links seem to be of the entire library of the game! Not sure that stuff is allowed to be shared for one, for the other, that is not how you share it most easily. That is done by going to the dashboard (the simple editor) and choosing to press the button below:

People can then import them by using the button (Import Zip) on the opening screen.

The method for loading it to the VRDesigns scenario bank is unchanged from what it has been for any and all of Vics other games, that allowed it.

If you need help with that, I'll be willing to post some screenies of that too.

Gosh I'm an idiot. And as fate would have it, better these games are not downloaded at this time.

But now that I know, I will use the logical way for something possibly worth sharing. Thanks for the kind help.

BTW, have always enjoyed your ATG scenarios, ernieschwitz. I'm sure just a matter of time until you break through with some great ones for DC:AO!

JTS (now WDS) Panzer Campaigns titles set in the Western Front have quite a large number of scenarios set during the same time period. Maps and OOBs are already there. I think it should be doable to design at least a dozen scenarios based off of those. I'm not sure if copying/being influenced by scenarios from another game by another publisher will be received well, however. Thoughts?

No publisher would complain about that.
