You did get a result from that first Dutch PT attack:

xAP Ussuri Maru collides with xAK Syoan Maru at 55 , 105

Edit: I see in subsequent engagements Syoan Maru took two PT torps but was still there in the last engagement. Tough ship!

Very exciting last two days. I have not seen a better high reward/low risk trap. [&o]

Thanks and welcome to the AAR. Wasn't much of a trap though and I fear it could have played out better as the losses to ships (I hate losing ships) were severe. Even if it was a victory overall I think the loss of a BB is not something that gets public applause in the States.
You can keep it out of the papers for a while, as was done with the loss of Lexington after the Battle of the Coral Sea.

What would also make a difference in real life although not in the game is the fact that the ships were lost after the battle so the wounded crew members as well as the rest of the crew could be removed in a more orderly fashion that the ship sinking before that happened. It does not state that in the report but that is something to consider when it comes time to announce the victory where the known enemy losses are announced along with a statement that there was significant damage to some of the Allied ships as well.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o

Stirring up amphib convoys often results in damaged ships but usually they aren't in danger of being sunk if it isn't a small escort rammed by a freighter. I do like to see these messages though [:D]. Two torps (if not wrong due to FOW) should do her in I guess.

This is true and a very good point. West Virginia didn't blow up like real life Arizona but she took several penetrating hits from Hiei so the damage inside the ship would be quite severe I guess. And then there were the 50 20cm hits from the heavy cruisers, which would be HE most likely. I guess the loss of life on West Virginia would be high in the end.

Brave ship

The largest disaster for England [the sinking of the Lancastria, 4,000 killed] was not officially acknowledged until after the war. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-33092351

both CA Canberra and DD Lamson sank at Koepang today... this brings our total losses from the naval engagement at Koepang to 1 BB, 1 CA and 4 DD plus all the other damaged ships... the IJN lost more CA/CL than we did plus the transport and troops aboard them but strategically the most important was the impeded invasion of Timor...

this will take forever... I'd give a lot for 300 Sallies instead of the 150 heavy bombers I've got... for every strike against this completely undefended target about 8% of the bombers need repairs/maintenance and within just a couple of days halve of your bomber force is sitting damaged at the airfield and it takes week to get them back into operational state again while as the Japanese my bomber units usually can bomb 24/7 at near full strength...

next attack at Malang, nearly the same result even though the Japanese don't take as many destroyed squads this time... it's really a pity the Dutch don't have engineers on Java as level 6 forts here would cause even more trouble and I brought in Indian engineers too late...

I've checked all four DD's experience and none went up even a single point. With tracker I always go through ship experience levels after each engagement if hits were scored. Odd thing is that you get more exp out of a battle if your ships are hit too and not only hitting the enemy.

Good time to stand them down and perhaps move them to a rear area to upgrade and/or replenish aircraft. It's best not to become too routine in your places of attack and origin base lest he work out a counter to it.

Their based at Kendari, pretty much out of scope for the Japanese to bomb the base as there are plenty of fighters and it's a flak nest. He could only attack out of Soerabaja but that's very long range. Leaves him with a bombardment TF covered by KB though.
