Swamps in hard freeze

Post by Cavalry Corp »

Do they become plain terrain - cannot see it mentioned in the manual - I would expect it would?

Getting ready for my first winter soon.

They do not - probably the best hexes to stay in a winter as an axis. But building forts there takes much more time. Have to check manual for specific numbers

Really?? Sounds most odd when mile wide rivers freeze solid.

yes I know about the fort issue.

Having done a lot of ski touring/mountaineering I can assure you that swamps may well freeze but the terrain remains very broken, so pragmatically lots of barriers/cover, and channels that constrain movement options

The swamp should turn into a forest, not a plain, usually there are many trees.
Sorry, i use an online translator :(

I live in a rather swampy Russian area. In winter, the marshes hardly freeze because of the moss that covers the water like a "blanket", which is also under the "blanket" of snow.
As a rule, such a terrain can become like a minefield, you will assume that you are safe walking through such snow, but then you will fall sharply without a single opportunity to get out.

ok thanks for the explanation .

Maybe the map mods version looks like what I suppose I would call marsh implying wet pools and small streams and rivers.
