Mouse issue

Post by HeadlessHessian »

just loaded the game and updated it to .05. scrolling does not work well excepting when you use the arrow keys. If you use the mouse to try to scroll it only works in one direction. I have a fully updated windows 10 platform

That happens to me every now and then as well.

I've noticed that 2 things fix the problem.

1) Save game, exit to menu, load game.
2) Click the end of move button. This doesn't work as well as exiting the game, but sometimes it does.

I have never had these problems and I tried all sorts of configurations.

So....

#1 how many monitors?
#2 what resolution?
#3 windowed or full screen?
#4 did you set your resolution NOT to your monitor resolution then full screen?

just because you have not had the issue, does not mean others have not. one of my friends also has the issue.
take it from and old...really old retired windows programmer :-)

one and only one monitor
1366x768
full screen
Resolution has been this way for years. I've product tested some matrix games and have played Advanced Tactis for ever...no problems.

Well..

My single monitor is set at 1920x1080

My game is set at full screen with 1366x768

My OS is Windows 10.

If I remember correctly, when this happens (can't move map with cursor East-West), I am zoomed in. I also find I can't zoom out. Direction keys work as does the jump map. So I normally save the game, exit, then reload and it works fine.

It's very odd. Do this.

run game -> graphics -> toggle to full screen view -> select resolution to your resolution -> click the "set selected resolution"

Both of you use full screen, but what happens if you play in windowed mode?

*Lava*, just curious, your monitor allows higher resolutions, why do you play in that lower one?

So everyone understands the game has a border of 100 pixels on the left, right, top, and bottom of the game window that it checks for the mouse pointer to move the map if that function is enabled.

The one thing I have not tested is changing the resolution not to maximum not matching the monitor. It technically shouldn't have an impact but.....

Try putting the mouse on the edge of the map just to the left or the right to see if it moves.

I just tried windowing and the cursor works!!!!! it will scroll the screen properly top to bottom, left to right.
The issue, in my case, only happens in full screen mode in this case.
thanks for the help, sorry to add another bug to your list of needed fixes! :-)

It's a bug I can't replicate. It's a simple script. Mouse between X1 and X2, Y1, and Y2 scroll map L direction.

I'm an old man and it is easier on my eyes. [;)]

Also, because of the large map, I find it easy to zoom out and then zoom in to where I want to look.

I'm new to this game (just started trying things out today) and I was also having scrolling issues. It took me a while to notice that when I started the game, I thought I was in full screen mode but, upon closer inspection, noticed that I was in window mode (a very large window). When I changed to full screen, the scrolling issues disappeared.
