Great books from Helion & Company

Post by thewood1 »

A Carrier at Risk and Go Find Him and Bring Me His Hat are part of a series called Latin America @ War. The Carrier book gives and incredibly detailed account of the near carrier on carrier battle that happened in the early part Falklands war. The second book details the ASW war by the RN, again, in great detail.

Both give very detailed OOBs, loadouts, sortie breakdowns, maps, and accounts based on Argentinian and RN flight logs and official AARs right after the flights and encounters. I personally have never seen such a detailed account of real-life ASW activity in any war. There is a very detailed record of sonobouy deployment and an accounting for every ASW weapon fired. It also highlights the near uselessness of MAD sensors for ASW work without significant support from other sensors.

Anyone interested in developing a Falklands scenario would be justified for the $25 or for each book.

Got both.
Great work generated by the cooperation of UK and Argentina sources who did serious research.
