Can't update using startup menue (Matrix version)

Post by rocketman71 »

Like the title says. The check for updates function identifies the latest update but is unable to start download due to FTP problem. Maybe I can download update manually, but thought I should let you know.

Having the same issue. Not sure how to download manually... Can't see a link anywhere and I don't have the steam version where it would auto update. The auto updater via the launch menu is not working for me. Disabled firewall, tried a few things, but unable to download the update.

Log into your matrix account got to my page , file downloads and there you have the option to directly download latest patch or beta depending what you want . usually these are self extracting once you open the file

I think you can pick it up from the store page without being logged in. Just look under "downloads" and it should be there right at the top of the list.

I've emailed Erik to make him aware of this thread.

Usually this issue is caused by the interference of a Internet security program (a firewall, an anti-virus, an anti-malware, etc.) with the game update feature.
Please check if any of your Internet security programs is interfering with the download from our ftp servers.

Alternatively, you can manually download and install the updates from your account's "MY PAGE" download area (*) or from the download section in the game product's page:
https://www.matrixgames.com/game/gary-g ... the-east-2

(*) You can download games and patches/updates from your account’s download area provided they are registered to the account. Please see the forum post below which explains how to do this:

Doubt it but I can't be sure.
It can be also an ISP issue as sometimes they like to do traffic shaping when it's coming from ftp servers.
