New mission/scenario building

Post by Chicharito19 »

Hello,

I have been playing around with the editor. I would like to try to build a mission for myself. I have never developed a scenario or mission in any of these games before.

What are some good resources to research order of battle and background information?

Thanx for your help.

This is the thread on the Editor:

https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4387350

In it, I sort of present a tutorial on scenario design.

Thanx. I also have an interest I mapping, but haven't tried my hand at it yet.

I downloaded the LatLong program. It doesn't seem to work in Windows 10. But Thanx for the links. Great stuff.

Ben (Golden Delicious) says he got it to work in DosBox.

Wiki is always a good place to make a general start. That and the internet will usually provide you a path to follow.

The Wiki link I use is:

There are tabs for ears pre-300 thru present.

Below is a sample. Regards

So I was able to make my first map. I used Hexthingy and Googlemaps. I know that its not perfect. But not too bad for my tastes with a first try. I actually thought it was quite fun and would like to learn more.

For some reason TOAW wouldn't let me input naval ports on the western side of the island? Anyway here it is...sorry for the quality of the pic.

Probably because those hexes have only shallow water hexes alongside. Make them deep water and you can probably put the ports on the map.

Cheers

That makes sense. Thanx so much.

I have also noticed that erasing hexes doesn't always work, in particular if you put text.

When I try to copy my map .mal from my laptop to my desktop, the editor won't load it. I can see it. But when I try to load it I just get an empty hex map.

Both TOAW are the same version. the Matrix versions and are updated.
