Newb question regarding HQ attachments

Post by racndoc »

Hi. New to the game and this forum. I am able to detach a corps from a HQ but I can't figure out how to attach it to a new HQ. Thanks in advance for your help!

If you right click your HQ you can set it to MANUAL control.
You can't change the HQ of a unit that has already moved or attacked this turn, but you can actually move a HQ and then change what units it commands.
Good players micromanage their HQs every turn. There are some more advanced nuances for example you can SWAP a HQ or unit and still change its HQ, HQs have special properties when they land amphibiously, HQs can supply boost other HQs (even I get a bit confused exactly when this works and I often click the SUPPLY map button twice to see what next turn's predicted supply values will be).

You might want to take a look at my post on this Forum from 12/13/2020 on "Understanding Supply".
