Question About Bridge Placement

Question About Bridge Placement

Just got the game a couple days ago, and absolutely love it so far. I just have a few questions about some of the mechanics.

One in particular is placement of bridges using the New Bridge card. When there are multiple river hex sides where the bridge can be placed, it seems as though the computer just randomly selects one. Unfortunately, it almost never seems to be the one where I actually want/need the bridge. Is there some way I can actually select the exact hex side for the bridge?
