Production technology

Post by DavidDailey »

Does production technology games just make units cheaper to purchase or does it help when reinforcing units? Does it help in any other way?

Yes for both buying and rein'ing. Not in any other way I am aware of. Note tech costs can be offset via PT.

A hidden feature of Production Tech is that the higher the tech is...the less NM value it is to the enemy if its destroyed.

If what is destroyed? A production source, like mines? I am not sure what you are saying. [&:]

In another thread one of the devs mentioned that the NM loss is lowered by higher Production Tech. Not sure the sepcifics.

I should of been more specific. What I meant to say is that: the lower the cost of a unit due to Production Tech, the lower its NM value is to the enemy if its destroyed. Not sure of the formula..but higher Production Tech has that benefit along with lower initial price in MMPs when bought.

There's a few threads where the Dev's mention this. I could look and see what the specifics are. Could be on the SC-WW1 forum somewhere too. I'm intrigued now also about that details of this mechanic.

I found this conversation on the SC-WW1 Forum concerning Production Tech and National Morale. I have tested a lot with Bavre btw and he is a doyen of this game.
Here it is:

Damage taken by units affect moral pro rated on their cost right?

The production tech reduce the price of units, which means that technically it would reduce the moral hit from losses, does that sound about right?

Bavre:
Yes, NM loss through unit losses is calculated per strength point lost and based on the base price, which production tech reduces.

quote:

ORIGINAL: KorutZelva
During the course of a game how much % of a country moral lost comes from unit loss vs cities?

Bavre:
Highly situational. You can check NM loss via unit losses quite easily in an ongoing game though: it's 100% identical to the MPP unit losses value in the reports.

Indeed, 1 MPP point lost in combat = 1 National Morale point lost too.
