A Week in Binh Long

Post by Jason Petho »

As previous stated, there are two "A Week in..." series scenarios that have you commanding a formation over the course of a week. 7 days, 7 nights, with different missions every day.

Here is a planning map that is included in the manual.

You will see the main AREA labels, these will be the area of operations that you'll have to "clear" on a daily basis.

You will also note the road labels, these will be the routes that your engineering task forces will also have to clear on a daily basis.

Here's a screenshot of the situation on Day 4.

It is the beginning of the day and I'm still ferrying my troops around to their new firebase locations and new area of operation for the day.

Supplies are en route.

Reinforcements are arriving and being assigned to their areas.

Engineer task forces are out on their daily tasks.

The Viet Cong have been elusive so far, but I know they are out there.

I take it that the “a week in….” scenarios can also be played by hot seat or PBEM ? I always found it frustrating that the traditional CS series campaigns could not be played against a human opponent.

Perhaps thought could be given to adding a similar multi day offering to CSME version 3 covering the battle for Jerusalem in 1967 ?

It is designed for solo play.

I mean, you could technically play it H2H, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Here is a link to a PDF that has a printable map and some units to place on said map.

You'll have to do some cutting, but that might be useful for keeping track of units and what their daily missions are.
