Shore bombardment

I am island hopping and trying to figured out shore bombardment, with my capital ships. I looked over the manual. Thank you.

It adds up to the unit Combat value. Needs to be next to attack hex.

Yes it is in the manual, but you can't find it by searching for "bombardment." It is under the heading "Naval Shore Support." If you play Okinawa 1945 as allies, you can see the shore support is all set up. Nice game BTW.
