Deselecting Units?

Deselecting Units?

Post by Kriegsspieler »

Hi, All --

After many years away from this game, I recently reinstalled it to my computer and am currently getting back into the thrill of approaching a village with my force and just KNOWING that something there is about to knock out one of my recon units. brrr . . . .

Meanwhile, I have a question for veterans: is there an efficient way of de-selecting a unit? Say you select a unit and tell it to go somewhere that is less than its full movement range. How do you leave off from that unit and go to another one? One obvious answer is to simply click on another unit, but that just kicks the problem down the road, right?

So how do experienced players handle this? Is this "always selected" quirk just something you learn to deal with?

You could also use the "N" key (next unit) and/or the "P" key (previous unit) to cycle through your units. The "G" key (next formation)is also helpful.

cheers

Yeah, I realize now that that is the best you can do. It still leads to a fair number of misclicks on my part, though, only some of which can be undone.

There's another game that has this little quirk/flaw. TOAW, maybe? In any case, if there is a new version of this game in development now, please, please make this thing go away!

And by the way, thanks for that little mod file that fixes the awful interface problems of the artillery page! [&o]
