Apply changes in w_maptext.dat to an existing saves

Post by Stamb »

1. I did some changes to a cities names and mtProfile and now I would like to apply this changes to my existing saves. How can I do it?
2. File status is now "Modified". May it affect PvP server games, as it might suspect that I am cheating or I can just ignore it?

1. From what I understand I don't think you can change it. It needs to be in place at the start of the game.
2. I raised this issue a while back but no one seemed concerned. It triggers even with a minor graphical modification.

1. This is no good. If there will be some changes in an update - it can override my changes and I will lose my changes without an ability to apply them again.
2. This is also no good.

Any chance we could get the engine to simply use the local w_maptext.dat on every loading of a save?
No idea why it would even be part of the savefile itself?!

Anyone has any idea how to get this to always work?

It's such a pain in the ass to see literally nothing when zooming out, I am 1 step away making all Urban Hexes simply BLACK.
Like, who gives a shit about Moscow and Berlin, I want to see cities that matter. :?
