Thai Oil Production?

Post by Staufenberg44 »

Turn 4 and I see oil listed in Thailand, some of it in storage, and also some production. There are no oil resources as such in Thailand. Convoy trade also does not seem to indicate what is going on, and why Japan cannot access whatever oil Thailand has for whatever reasons. ?

Any minors can't send oil back to majors. It is a general rule for all countries. Can you post both Production screenshot of Thailand and Convoys screenshot?

Actually on the convoy screen it seems as though Japan shipped these 7 oil points to Thailand as some sort of trade arrangement. Even though the oil shipments have been reduced to zero they seem to still be getting one per turn. There is trade with Japan but the oil cannot be shipped back.

All right so you have a trade between Japan and Thailand sending 2 PP and 1 oil point. I don't see a problem.

I understand that.
This is from my latest run through. The only trade with Thailand has been the imports there since the beginning. No other trade was established, and the Thais have 6 production and 5 oil, on hand I take it. I'd like to know what these two numbers mean, thanks:

Please check the manual page 23-24. There is a good explanation of how it works.

"No more than 25% of a country’s total
production and 25% of its stored oil can be traded away" [p.23]

That does explain it. Thanks again.

The 25% of total production points threshold is based of the last turn's production received, rather than the sum of production city capabilities. Which means if the US sends a large amount PPs to the UK, a larger than normal amount can be sent on to India the following turn.
