Hey, that math is too high level for a DAT . . .

Hahaha, that’s good but you underestimate us DATs we can count to 100, with our two hands, it’s the subtracting that kills us…

I thought that subtraction would be easy for DATs!
100 Bottles of Beer On The Wall

Words & Music by
Jimmie Vestal

A hundred bottles of beer on the wall,
A hundred bottles of beer
Take one down, pass it around
Ninety nine bottles of beer on the wall.

From a hundred bottles of beer on the wall I'm countin' down
Passing bottles in this place
Who knows that I'm around?
A hundred bottles of beer on the wall
I'm passed around, my love leaves town
She don't care at all.

I'm in this country bar in Tennessee
I'm clogging with my friends
And singing harmony
They are having fun
But I'm not feeling great
Like those bottles on the wall
Love intoxicates.

That girl of mine she left me
Here in Tennessee
Line dancin' with my friends
There's no place I'd rather be
But I can't forget my troubles
Passing bottles in this place
Everywhere I go I see her face.

From a hundred bottles of beer on the wall I'm countin' down
Passing bottles in this place
Who knows that I'm around?
A hundred bottles of beer on the wall
I'm passed around, my love leaves town
She don't care at all.

(GUITAR BREAK)

From a hundred bottles of beer on the wall I'm countin' down
Passing bottles in this place
Who knows that I'm around?
Like the bottles in this place
I'm passed around
From one love mess to the next
When will love be found?

Eighty eight bottles of beer on the wall Eighty eight bottles of beer
Take one down, pass it around
Eighty seven bottles of beer on the wall.

(GUITAR BREAK)

From a hundred bottles of beer on the wall I'm countin' down
Passing bottles in this place
Who knows that I'm around?
A hundred bottles of beer on the wall
I'm passed around, my love leaves town
She don't care at all.

Think Sherman, but I drove an Abrams

There was one that was driven into a little puddle. When the water quit rising, the water was half up the turret on the inside . . .

There was another one that was driven into a ditch and the gun tube went into the dirt. A 105mm steel orchid resulted from firing the gun with two feet of packed dirt into the tube . . .
The crew was lucky that the breech held . . .

There was one that was driven along the side of the hill. The mechanics tried to pull it sideways uphill with two M88 recovery vehicles. They ended up cutting down trees and eased it to the bottom of the hill. When they put the new track adjuster on, they forgot a new grease fitting which cost less than two US cents. They had to wait until the next day to move the tank.

Then there was the M60A3 tank that crossed German railroad tracks with the antenna up. The tank was loaded with live war ammo. Overhead electric railroad tracks. Only the charge of one round went off, blowing the driver, the loader, and the vehicle commander out of the vehicle - the gunner had no separate hatch.

The M60 tank that was in the motorpool where the tankers were doing their Skill Qualification Tests. To practice misfire procedures, they were told to say something like "I am pressing the firing switch" or words to that effect. Instead, one tanker fired the main gun which had a live round in the breech . . .

There could easily be more . . .

However, the main question remains. Even though I didn't ask it in my original post. What is the purpose of heavily reinforcing the amphibious invasion capacity in the Baltic sea?

I couldn't tell. Seeing the lack of serious repercussions following Russia's recent annexation of the Crimea, perhaps Sweden is planning an invasion of Åland. Perhaps no one will notice now with Covid and such, and if someone does notice, they might let it slip?

As I understand it, Russia controls a chunk of land between Lithuania and Poland, along the Baltic south coast. Part of the response to a Russian invasion of Ukraine could be elimination of this pocket. Kaliningrad is in the area I describe.

Yes, that area used to be part of Poland . . .

It does yes, formerly well-known Königsberg. What role Sweden would play in a Nato-Strike against Kaliningrad, I wouldn't know. Perhaps under a UN-umbrella.
Anyway, That's one invasion I surely never hope to see. It would spell disaster for Europe.

I am not familiar enough with the political or strategic issues there to comment further. I also hope that no one pushes too far on their brinkmanship. Since the topic is kind of political, we should leave it at that.
