First of all, yesterday I did bootcamp 1 following the manual as best I could using a translator and the truth is that the feeling in the game is satisfactory CONGRATULATIONS for your work it shows that there are hours dedicated to this game, there may be errors but the game is very addictive and It puts you right into the VIETNAM atmosphere. When I press unit information, for example a platoon is equipped with M16, M60, M79, CLAYMORE AND LAW ROCKET LAUNCHER. When do you know if you have used one weapon or another, for example put a claymore? that can be seen or when he shoots if he senses that you are using all those weapons?

Thank you @YEROSA77, I am glad to hear you are enjoying this so far!

Indeed in Vietnam, unlike with previous games from the series, most all rifle platoons (and not only engineers) can set up an IED at 1 strength point level. You do that by selecting a unit then from menu: Units > Lay an IED.

As for the light arms, LAWs, what not, they are abstracted, so when you fire at another rifle platoon, score a hit, that was likely your rifles and squad machine guns integral to that unit. When you destroyed an armoured vehicle with your rifle platoon, that was the LAWs, satchel charges, what not.

Both abstracted into how strong that particular platoons Soft and Hard attack values are.

Thanks for your prompt response, what is IED? what is it for? Sorry if I generate doubts, it is that I use a language translator.

IED is an Improvised Explosive Device, like a mortar grenade you wire to explode when tripwire is touched. VM, VC did a lot of that, while US forces had Claymores so they did not have to improvise as such. At the end of the day they both worked with the same principle, though.

Yerosa..

IED = Improvised Explosive Device

For the VC it would often be captured US or French munitions rigged up as a booby trap.

For the US it would include the Claymore Mines you referred to.
