Torpedo Specialty

I just want to confirm that the torpedo specialty only benefits submarines.

No, ships like DD groups. Remember the long lance torpedo.

Ok, thanks. Makes sense for a DD but I noticed that even when I picked a CV group, the torpedo specialty was displayed so not sure how that works unless the air units on the CV are deadlier although early in the war the Yank SBD's were not very good partly because of their inferior torpedoes.

Historically also Cruisers, (heavy and light), japanese and british depending on the class, apparently no the american.

Yuejin told me had had quite good results with the Nachi's starting torpedos over a game (2-3 ship sinking). However, small fleet may obviate this by making it more dangerous for it to operate.
