Search function in the forum broken?

World in Flames is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. World In Flames is a highly detailed game covering the both Europe and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. If you want grand strategy this game is for you.

Search function in the forum broken?

Post by juntoalmar »

Hi,

I have a question and I was searching for it in the forum before posting (to avoid repeating questions) but the search function never works for me. Even searching for recent posts (with keywords as “steam”, “UI suggestion” or “editing”) I never get a single record found.

- Is search function in the forum completely broken?
- Do you have a suggestion for searching on MWiF forums?

Thanks!

Do you leave it defaulted to search all forums? I have had success changing it to only subscribed forums, or better yet only the WiF forum.

Even searching only on WiF forum and putting exact words as current threads, I can only find the latest ones:
- "Pearl Harbour", ok
- "Yugoslavia", ok

those from a couple of months ago:
- "email games" or "Tips for email games", 0 records
- "UI suggestion", 0 records
- "editing", 0 records

Have you changed "Display topics from last" from 365 days to All Topics?

It's either "within" or "before" one year, and no luck with either of them. It's strange it doesn't find a thread posted 2 months ago.

If it works for you all it has to be me, but I feel it should work better. Sorry if I write questions answered before.

Borrowing on from the WITP-AE forum you can use a search engine and should be able to find much better results then here.

site:matrixgames.com “World in Flames” + search term

It doesn't really work for me. Tried both on DuckDuckGo and Google the text: site:matrixgames.com "World in Flames" + pearl harbour

and got results from different games [:(]

It's a real PITA but you can find things if you really work it.

For example:

You have to use AND/OR, select the right forum (I believe subforums have to be searched individually) and of course use the time limits and other parameters.
