Friendly Fire

Post by alwaysdime »

I had an instance where NVA fired into a hex that had a gunship and another NVA unit. Instead of targetting my copter they attack the other NVA unit. I was the US so this was the AI that did this.

I will see what might be done about that.

In the code, I see where friendly fire opfire should be prevented. OTOH, friendly fire surely happens in Real Life.

For fear of Fix One Thing, Break Another (aka the Law of Unintended Consequences), I will leave this alone for now. Chalk it up to the (mis)Fortunes of War.

This was not op fire. This was during the NVA turn. Either way I think it needs to be fixed. It can be exploited in SP and if Op Fire behaves the same then its a MP exploit as well.

So we blame the SAI, I guess.

To be revisited.

This issue has now been fixed, I believe. Available in the forthcoming v1.10 (and thereafter).
