Also note that there are two Val models available. You might have pools for one but not the other,

Perhaps the unit took replacements the last 7 days, you can only take 12 aircraft as replacements once every 7 days.

Definitely been more than 7 days maybe a month even. Actually I think the last time I was at Truk I could only replace Zeros and Kates then too...

Well, the manual stated you need to have 20,000 supply, so I guess that is the problem.

Right thought so but I was replacing Zeros and Kates thus the confusion...

Is the CV capable of handling Vals? The Val could not fold its wings (due to the stresses experienced by the wings while in a dive) thus it took a much larger elevator than ANY of the CVLs could handle. Not sure that AE simulates this but it could explain why you can't take Val replacements.

AE doesn't simulate this to my knowledge, you should be able to place every kind of aircraft on every carrier in the game.
edit: every kind of carrier capable aircraft of course [:D]

This is one area of factual considerations that the developers chose to ignore. Many aircraft, especially ones later in the war, were too big to "fit" on many CVs/CVLs and certainly CVEs. I would assume due to the complexity of this problem it was decided to just let it be. In the game, any carrier capable A/C can fit AND operate on any CV type.

The Zeroes and Kates have longer range so they get replaced by some HQ that isn't in range for the Vals.

I don't think that is the issue as I do have an Air HQ at Truk...

But it doesn't matter if you have an Air HQ if you don't have the supplies.

Getting back to 20,000 supply did indeed fix the issue. I guess I used it all up on the Zeros and Kates before I could get to the Vals. Thanks all
