MPPs

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

MPPs

Post by forestrouse »

I have been evaluating where my strategy is going wrong playing either the Allies or Axis. I have been playing against the AI and periodically checking the research and unit production levels.

The question I have is about MPPs. I am playing giving the AI experience but no MPP bonus to gauge when one should have a specific level of research and what approximately the opposing player can buy.

What I see is that the MPPs are generally about 10-20% above what I achieve when I play that side. Is there a specific game action that increases the MPP production that I am missing?

I am investing in Industrial production quite heavily as either Axis or Allies.

There is an at-start setting that gives them up to 20% more income. Higher difficulties also mean extra units, on top of the ones from 20% bonus. If I crank both of those settings to max the AI will end up swimming in units sooner or later-I can kill dozens of UK ground and air units, and he can always buy them back fairly quickly.

If you given the AI and Experience bonus, maybe it is more effective attacking/defending against convoy raids & strat bombing?

Humm - interesting.

First, I give the AI expert level, +2 spotting, experience bonus (currently at +1), but no MPP bonus. Specifically I want to understand what is generally feasible by a human opponent in a game. I've certainly noticed that when I give the AI an MPP bonus, the opposing side does swim in units as Elessar says.

Second, when I look at the Strat/Convoy raids - I don't see that the raw numbers don't explain what I am seeing as the difference. However, it does bring to mind that the recovery takes time (only 1 MPP per turn per resource) and the statistics do not take that into account. So maybe the more effective strategic bombing and convoy raiding does explain the 10-20% drop relative to the AI.

Thanks both of you for the note. More to consider in the game hopper.
