How is this compared to Case Blue?

Decisive Campaigns: Ardennes Offensive is the fourth wargame in the Decisive Campaign series. Covering the battles in the Ardennes between December 1944 and January 1945, it brings to life Operational wargaming by lowering the scale to just above tactical level.

How is this compared to Case Blue?

Is the scale smaller?
Are there fewer units and fewer hexes to deal with?

(I don't like games with gigantic maps with hundreds of hexes and hundreds of units that have to be moved one by one and then you have to wait foreever for the AI to do the same thing?)

Yeah it's hundreds of counters but the tactical system is brilliant, and the medium scenarios where you are handling only 2-4 divisions are easily playable and worth buying the game for.

Personally I'd love to see more corps scale scenarios.

Exactly my thoughts. The whole campaign is maybe too much for your taste. But don't hesitate if you're interested in a fresh approach for operational turn-based wargaming in sections of the Ardennes Offensive! The small and medium scenarios are already worth the money. I guess I already spent 30+ hours in them...

Keep in mind though, this a much much smaller scale than Case Blue. You're pushing batallions through the woods in 1km hexes here, fighting for road junctions, towns and bridges, not for a big strategic goal like Stalingrad.

Btw, I miss a "Road to Bastogne" or "The Southern Flank" scenario for the Germans... The Road to St.Vith scenario with two corps was fun and not too time-consuming. I would gladly pay for a scenario dlc!

WTF!
I was just about to buy Ardennes Offensive at the 15% discount. And a few hours ago it showed that the sale would last another 19 hours. Now when I finally go to hit the BUY button it shows that there is no discount. That sucks big time.

After I finish my "Bridge at Remagen" scenario I was thinking about doing a scenario on the battle of Aachen.
