Do not miss to read them, they are very well done and fascinating. I obviously do not forget all the other creators of the game and the scenarios, because I am only at the beginning of the discovery.

Not only his writings, David has also authored several dozen scenarios for CS:Vietnam, many of them French IndoChina War scenarios that you are enjoying in the game's initial release. Wait til you get to see his Laotian "Secret War"

I am really looking forward to the CSVN DLC as well. Now you have wetted our appetite for Vietnam would it perhaps be a good idea to switch to bringing out the Vietnam DLC’s after CSME is updated before moving on to the launch version of East Front III ? Perhaps the team might wish to proceed on the following basis ?

1.Update CSME to version 3.
2.Bring out the CSVN Vietnam battles 1968-1975 DLC
3.Bring out the CSVN DLC covering Laos, Canmbodia and the 1979-1989 Sino Vietnamese conflict.
4.Bring out the CSVN Korean War DLC
5.Bring out the CSME Iran/Iraq War DLC
6.Bring out the CSME African bushfire wars DLC
7.Bring out East Front III

If on the other hand you feel that you really cannot leave East Front III that long you could perhaps bring it out once you have done the CSVN DLC’s and before starting on the CSME ones or at least do the 1968-1975 VSVN DLC first.

We are likely to release CSME 3.0 and any CSVN DLCs before releasing CSEF III. Although the CSEF game engine and other EXEs are fully up to latest standards (with all the CSVN extensions and goodies), data content creation (maps, OOBs, scenarios, Lua scripts, etc.) is still in the early stages.

The conflicts and battles waged across IndoChina from c. 1948 to c. 1989, forty years of strife, are far more than just the better known French IndoChina War and "the" (American involvement) Vietnam War. We have David Galster to thank for much of the game's broader and more obscure coverage.

Just 1950 1953 I am afraid although back issues of the IISS military Balance will give you the higher level picture.

I have a few old issues of IISS from the 70's and 80's, but alas, they are just general strengths - not near the detail needed to develop OOB's.

If you were going to set up 1985 as the main date for you hypothetical later Korean conflict there is always the work done by JTS / now WDS for their “Korea 85 title as a starting point.

The masochist in me can hardly wait ....at least my generalship is of an equivilant standard to that of ARVN General Hoang Xuam Lam of I Corps 😉
