RE: Rising Sun, Falling Skies: BTSL Bigred vs John 3rd
My Posting, as detailed several weeks ago, is back to occasional. Now that school is back up and running, my time is pretty full until the end of year. My John will graduate and Christopher will move from Sophomore to Junior. NEXT school year shall be far calmer! That is when I will be able to keep a regular--day-to-day--AAR going! [:D]

Before going back to work tonight, I thought I might do a Real Life comparison of relative Japanese carrier strength compared between Scenario One and BTS.
This is starting CVs plus builds to late-1943 factoring NO LOSSES:
The Japanese have two additional Fleet CVs and two additional CVLs. Total of 210 additional aircraft.
I have taken out the CAV and CLV ships due to them being hypothetical creations but when you add them, Japan gains two CV conversions while the Allies gain FOUR (2 US and 2 Commonwealth). If started immediately when conversion was allowed those six should all be complete. Net Gain of 2 CVL for the Allies.
The Americans gain three additional CVL added to the OOB so, perhaps, two of those are available presently.
Biggest problem that Paul has here is that he is now down 3 CV (Yorktown, Wasp, and Hornet), 1 CVL (King's Mountain), and 1 or 2 CLV/CAV. Japan has lost no CV or CVL to this point...

Good stuff. How did 13AD get into play? That was a division earmarked for Downfall.

Holy CRAP. I am recovering from watching my Chiefs win in overtime. Getting too old for these back-and-forth nail-biting football games.
GO CHIEFS!

Dont know, ask John. But I saw I could buy it out. The 13th AR seems destined for the Irrawaddy valley.[:D]ORIGINAL: CaptBeefheart

Excellent. It would be fun to have something like wreaking havoc in Burma. Do you get enough M4 replacements support the division?

To the Imperial Japanese Army and it's 37mm/47mm AT guns, an M3 Lee is basically a Tiger Tank! The M4 is a King Tiger!
So yeah, use those M3 up first, since you don't get a ton of M4s if you start having losses

43-7-4:b After the beat down given to the IJN my naval air goes after some shiping in the area and waste alot of Torps on low value targets.

43-7-5:
Three air missions(no screenie) flew to sink the Kumano at Kumac harbor and all three missions had no hits plus used TBFs as aerial bombing platforms from 15k.
The US 1st Corp is unloaded in force at Lafoe.
The "Elite" Chinese 86th Corp does clear a route to Ramree(maybe).

The British 15th Corp continues the push to Ramree island. Could be a trap as more IJN fleet elements are operating in area. In SoPac the Marines put alot of pressure on Noumea.
