Valdai Hills Line

Back when I was playing WITE 1 reading forum posts on tactics, for the Germans it was to reach the Valdai Hills to form the best defensive line North.

From what I read it was a must do for the Axis, i have just reach the town and control at least half the area and its the middle of October I am preparing to try to push The Soviets from the rest of the area then dig in.


In WITE 1 you could quite possibly in some places have Regt level front line, the Hills were a good example.

In this game it has been my first time i think actually taking the town in 1941, I think in my last 2 games I got control of part of the Hills but not the town and eventually had to fall back and dig in.

What is the consensus of the Hills strategic value holding them through the first winter in WITE 2.
