Notifications on iPhone have to click twice

Post by Zovs »

Per the subject.

On my desktop when I have a Red Notification when I click on it it takes me automatically to the message.

On my iPhone I have to tap on the Notification and then tap on the 'notification for the item' twice in order to automatically go to the message.

Anyone else having this issue on an iPhone or Android device?

Greetings:

How do I go about ensuring I will be notified about all topics posted to the WITE2 forum for my desktop? I have tried to use all the appropriate mechanisms here to ensure it happens but, for some reason, I don't seem to be receiving ALL notifications. I'm sure I've missed something so any advice/assistance will be appreciated. :)

You have to use the bbcode

Image

Here is a screen shot of that using the bbcode in the forum...

And here is where Imgur stores the copy and paste part to use in the forums.

In the old forum, each post in a thread is numbered. Sometimes it is useful to use the post# to refer to a particular post. I do not find this feature in the new forum. Is it still here? If not, I would suggest to add this back.

One further question - I used to be able to attached files in sending private message. I can't find the attached file button now. Is it no longer allow to do so?

Would it be possible to limit the size of images in signatures? With the new narrow forum (which I like), sometimes a single posting of a few sentences fills up most of the screen because at the bottom of the posting is a very large image in the signature. This requires more scrolling than ideal to read all the postings in a topic. Sometimes 90% or more of the space allocated to a single posting is taken up by the signature (text + image).

You can turn off the signature displays in your user control panel

Can you improve the text to make it more readable.

The old version was fine.
The Slitherine forum is fine.
The present format here I find difficult to read and it causes me eye strain after a few minutes of looking at it. Am not really sure why because I don't have the old version to compare, but the combination of the text and the colour scheme doesn't work for me at all.

Thanks.

A little bit confusing, yes!.
At first I thought that blue was "unread items", but I have a mixture of blue and grey and the "hover tip" for both says "No unread posts"

Did the saved PMs from the old board just get dumped, or will they be restored?

Well its not major but it seems myself and 1 guest are the only ones on " GG WITE 2 forum page at the moment, cant even tell if there is even a MOD on, seems awful lonely here.

Also the new look takes some getting used to.

1. Another issue with the new forum: as you may have already noticed, the link feature is not working.

2. The "no links and images until 7 days after 10 posts" policy doesn't seem to be enforced. Specifically, I was able to post links after making 10 posts and being a member for 7 days. Not complaining, but I do want your policies to work as you choose.

3. I can't attach .se1 files to posts. Is this an intentional restriction?

4. This is an existing site issue and not a new forum issue so I'd be happy to redirect this to the correct forum, but the homepage of the site is autoplaying twitch streams with sound. I don't think anybody likes autoplaying videos, but to add insult to injury the video is at the very bottom of the page.

Not sure what your point is in #2. You are complaining that the policy is not being enforced and citing that it worked as advertised for yourself? There doesn't seem to be a problem there.

#4. Has not been mentioned by anyone else. Do you have a Twitch app operating in the background? Use [Alt][Shift][Del] to bring up the panel that shows what programs are operating on your system.

The policy's wording is seven days *after* the tenth post is made. I could post URLs when I was a user for seven days *and* I had just made my tenth post.

I'm very sure that I don't have a twitch app operating in the background. The twitch widget at the bottom autoplays every time I open the homepage, matrixgames.com, with volume on by default. While a cookie remembers when I mute the twitch widget, it's still autoplaying every time I open the homepage.

Wow, I completely agree with this. The old font was much better. This makes reading the forum a real headache, literally.
The font for the main text of each post is exactly the same in type and size as far as I can see. You may prefer the "wide" forum option, or use the control-mousewheel to zoom in to where it's more comfortable size-wise, but the new forum did not change the font size.
Ah. Didn't know about the mouse wheel. That solves that. Eyes get kind of worn out at the 70 something year mark. Thanks for the tip.

It's actually exactly the same as the Slitherine forum and the old forum. I'm a bit baffled as I've seen multiple folks give this feedback but there is no difference in the body text font or size. If you take some screenshots side by side you'll see what I mean.
