Morale Setting for AI

Post by tx_fella_2010 »

Hello all,

Long time player of WitE1, when I try to make the AI in WitE2 harder by changing the difficulty setting to "Challenging" I notice it has the morale setting at 125.

In WitE1 units would have their base morale modified by this percentage (eg a unit with a NM or 40 at 125 level would have a NM of 50). It seems according to the manual in WitE2 (page 440, Morale Level) it would be basically the same.

However, I was checking on the AI and changed it from computer control to human control several turns into a game, and it appears the Soviets set at 125 still have a base NM of 45 or 50 depending on game turn in 1941. It seems the 125 multiplier is not applying? Or is it affecting things in other ways?

See the unit below, it has a base NM of 50; which according the editor and tables in the manual is correct for a normal difficulty level game.

Thanks!

The help level adjustment is not shown in the displayed national morale level in the unit display. The help level adjustment is calculated into relevant checks of national morale, so in the case where it is showing 50 and you have 110 morale help, the help level will have it operating effectively at 55 (50x1.10).

Also note that changing the setting to challenging will set the AI morale help level to 110. A 125 morale help level is what you get when set to the Hard level.
