Guards tank corps

M60 in his pearls of wisdom posts says that you can make Guards tank corps from two guards tank brigades. i have tried to convert my guards tank brigades to guards tank corps but it is not doing it. what am i missing. i have the required two GTB's plus a non guards motorized brigade but it is just converting to a regular tank corps. Dont want to waist Guards units when i can just reassign them to other units if they wont convert?

It would be nice to have one thread with all of the details about units conversion types and dates when this conversion is possible.
Also which units preserve W/L stats and which do not.

From a living manual in game folder :
"Addenda: 01.01.15 When a corps is created using 2 or 3 guards units, if an
appropriate guards OB is not available, the newly formed corps will not be a
guards unit. A data change in this version delays the first available Guards
Tank Corps to December 1942, and the first available Guards Mechanized
Corps to November 1942. So merging guards brigades before these dates will
not result in a guards corps."

Can you split the corps into subunits again? If yes do they retain their former guards status? If yes there's a possibility this corps becomes guards if the Guards OB becomes available due do having 2x guards units inside.
So 2x Yes for a maybe.
