Growth rate and research

Post by RgZera »

In DW:U 0 taxes resulted in highest growth but it does not seem to be the case anymore.
If i do not have positive cash flow my growth and research suffers due to state funding.

What can i do to be in negative cash flow AND still have max growth and research? Lets say if i have 10 million credits and i can afford to lose money.

You can not be in negative income and have money flowing to growth and research. This is WAD, according to Erik.

I complained about it myself. But to no avail.

You can still sink excess cash into crash research. Crash research is double speed, so if you have money to burn that can help you along.

ok, so basically what i need to do is increase my funding earlier so i never get to a point where im sitting on a lot of cash, basically always positive cash flow, but barely above 0 for maximum funding

I mean after i have an "emergency stockpile for when i want to buy ships/stations/etc

concerning the crash research suggestion from the other comment, im sorry but to me its counter intuitive. If im having negative cash flow and because of it maybe only half of my potential research, i dont want to pay x amount of credits to double my gimped research output when i could just have my full research potential with funding AND then if i still have money left i could still crash research with my max potential research output.

From one side i can understand this, i really can, because stellaris ai is dumb as **** and always had a hard time with stockpiles and eco management. Even when i was modding it i modded everything for actual income. Its better to have the ai sit on maximum stockpile and having their economy on 70% efficiency than to let it "TRY" to balance income and stockpile and just have its entire economy crash spectacularly.

It is also better to be "forced" to enact some taxes on the capital planet for maximum growth rate. It eliminates the player advantage of knowing how to balance a negative income from DW:U and in return strengthening the ai. So everyone has good growth and positive cash flow at start for a balanced start for all.

The only solution i can see to this "as a modder" would be to enable an edict/decision to use cash stockpile to increase cash flow. So you would have a "positive" cash flow that boosts growth and research through funding WHILE actually leaking money. (if this makes any sense to yall) Even i dont know how it would look on the private/state economy tab though. An accountant would surely get a stroke but at least the ai would be tricked into thinking it has positive cash flow while also decreasing cash stockpile
