GeForce NOW
How soon will the game be available there?
Re: GeForce NOW
Nvidia directly said than the game its coming to GF Now, if it isn't already I would summit a support ticket, as its something from Nvidia side, not from the game developers.
Amateurs talk about strategy. Professionals talk about logistics!
Re: GeForce NOW
It isn't appearing in my library either.
I started a chat about it in GFN forums, any news I will update here.

Re: GeForce NOW
Was in contact with Nvidia support; they suggested to wait 24 hrs.
Re: GeForce NOW
Another issue is that steam save file sync does not appear to be enabled, unless I am wrong.
If this is the case it will be impossible to play because save games will dissapear when the geforce now session ends.
For me that would be a maximum 6 hour game. For those on the free tier that would be a maximum of one hour.
Personally I am a fan of really long DW games....
Now it seems I am just complaining on the forums when I was hoping to be celebrating.
I think I will go back to lurking until these issues are fixed...

Re: GeForce NOW
AFAIK, GFN has its own savefile cache, so you don't really need Steam savefile sync.
Re: GeForce NOW
Well, it has been 24 hours, but the game is still not on GFN. Given that all the other new games they added this Thursday seem to be working, could this be an issue on Matrix's end?

Re: GeForce NOW
I was told it would be there at release or shortly thereafter. I'm not sure what's causing the delay, but I'm checking into it.

Edit to add link to Nvidia post about this release

Re: GeForce NOW
Sorry to be pushy Erik, but have you heard anything from Nvidia yet? Was really hoping to be able to play this weekend, and Nvidia's customer service is of course mum beyond the rote responses.
Re: GeForce NOW
Heheh I have really been restraining myself from nagging about this. Glad I am not alone.fnix wrote: Sat Mar 12, 2022 12:58 pm Sorry to be pushy Erik, but have you heard anything from Nvidia yet? An update would really ease the strain. NVidia are saying nothing.
While I am enjoying trying to get it running on linux, I really really want to actually play the game.
Everyone who uses GFN please raise issues and nag them on their forums, this wait is unbearable.
Re: GeForce NOW
Ahhh the irony.
I have spent most of my PC gaming life making sure I have many backups of my games and the hardware to play them off-grid so that, in the inevitable case I am stranded on a desert-island or stuck in a basement in a zombie apocalypse, I can still play my games. Generally I avoid games that need to be on-line like the plague. I obsessively leave my steam in off-line mode just in case.
Even though I am happily married and generally like people, my ideal existence would be locked in a room with my favourite immersive game, on my own, not connected to the internet.
And here I am chewing the furniture because GeForce Now does not have DW2 on it.
I have gone astray......

Re: GeForce NOW
We reached out to them and heard that there was some kind of delay on their side. While waiting for further answers, I went on their main website (https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce-now/games/) and I've seen Distant Worlds 2 mentioned at the beginning of the page. At the bottom of the page, moreover, I've also seen this sentence "*Some games listed may not appear until later in the week, including new game launches. You must already own or purchase titles to play them on GeForce NOW." So I guess we may wait a bit longer before seeing the game on Geforce platformfnix wrote: Sat Mar 12, 2022 12:58 pm Sorry to be pushy Erik, but have you heard anything from Nvidia yet? Re: GeForce NOW
Thank you so much for getting in touch with them! Yeah, their homepage announces the addition of the game, but it doesn't actually show up in the database on the same page. Funnily enough, DW2 is on the leading banners of this week's announcements on their social media feeds too. I wish they'd give some explanation for the delay or some indication of how long it'll be, but oh well, more waiting it'll be for now then.Erik Rutins wrote: Sat Mar 12, 2022 8:15 pmWe reached out to them and heard that there was some kind of delay on their side. Hehe, well, I hope to one day follow in your footsteps; right now I'm a poor student with only a Linux netbook living in my dorm, so GFN is actually really useful, when it works at least.deMangler wrote: Sat Mar 12, 2022 8:02 pm Ahhh the irony.

Re: GeForce NOW
My footsteps led me to rely on a 5 year old linux gaming laptop that, while it is portable, rugged, and can do pretty much anything I want, has fans that render ordinary conversation impossible when playing most games, even after replacing them and re-pasting. With GFN I can play in wonderful silence.fnix wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 10:09 am Hehe, well, I hope to one day follow in your footsteps; right now I'm a poor student with only a Linux netbook living in my dorm, so GFN is actually really useful, when it works at least.![]()
Now, when I was a student, there would have been so much chaos going on (and I don't mean studying) as well as I don't think the music ever stopped...fan noise would have been completely un-noticable.
Happy studies, and most important, have fun....

Re: GeForce NOW
Morning everyone, i was wondering if there had yet been an update to this? Im getting the same push of from Geforce, to just wait another 24 hours.
I mean im at work so cant game anyway, but its nice to know when its there. Appreciate this is not down to matrix and Erik, and im pretty sure they are currently having to deal with some of the steam forums toxicity, so please dont take this at a dig in your direction chaps.

Yeah - the GeForce NOW people are "working on it"
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/fo ... ot-appear/
I have only been using GFN for a couple of months as a paid user, so I have no idea if this kind of thing is normal.
Still - lots of forum to read....

Re: GeForce NOW
I have been using GFN as a paid user for a while, however it has mostly been for AAA releases, that my current set up wont have a hope for running. My experience on that side has been fairly good, but i think DW2 is probably the only "specialist" game i have wanted to use on the service. So maybe the smaller releases dont get the same support coverage?deMangler wrote: Mon Mar 14, 2022 11:03 amGood morning...
