Here's an idea for the future. It would be nice to have a weapon encyclopedia. That way, aside from just looking knowing a weapon as a set of numbers, you could really get an idea of what it was. Sure, everyone knows what an MG 42 is, but it would be fun to know more about some of the really obscure stuff.

I'd be glad to, but infantry weapons are not really something I have a lot of material on. What I do have is in storage in Houston, quite out of reach. I'm sure there are several people on this board who have massive libraries on this sort of thing. Maybe they have heard your cry? I'm more of a vehicles/aircraft guy.

Being the 'gun nut' that I am, I have several good references on military small arms. In fact, I just got Ian Hoggs' Military Small Arms Data Book which covers military small arms from 1870-2000...
