Dashed Rings when selecting Ship

When selecting ships you get two sorts of dashed rings - inner orange und outer yellow.
I assume they are range rings - but what they are exactly showing is not in the manual... can anyone enlighten me?

i think inner is max jump range in a single jump of your jumpdrive and outer is max fuel range.
