CHANGED OWNERSHIP

Overall

• Strategic points: 14,472

• +/- VP today: +20

• IJN fleet is 12 hexes NE of Wake Island, heading NW.

West Coast USA, Alaska, Hawaii

Pacific

• A few convoys had been held at San Francisco to avoid making a too target rich environment for the IJN. They are now sailing.

New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Solomons, Papua New Guinea, New Britain

DEI, Dutch New Guinea, Borneo, Malaya

• While it's hard to say because of all the variables, I think the naval bombardments of Singapore have gotten a little more effective.

• Enemy must have spied our units at Lucena because their troops at Mauban are no longer moving there. Instead they are moving into Manila. We are moving a Bde from Batangas into Mauban to secure that place.

• Batangas is almost repaired. Not many engineers there.

China

• Imperial Tsuyung withdrawal continues.

• The enemy unit adjacent NW to Neikiang is an airfield support unit, and they are heading for the roadblock. Obviously their mission is to open the exit hex side as their blocked fellows cross the river. The paras are intercepting, and tactical air strikes are hopefully making it hard to predict movement rates for the enemy.

• 2,427 AV at Chungking. Recon: 11 units; 56,920 troops; 404 guns; 59 AFV. I prefer to have the Chinese 85th Corps (633 AV) participate. They should be in Chungking in about 5 days.

• 255 AV at Chihkiang. One more Bde will arrive in 2 days. Recon: 3 units; 10,360 troops; 72 guns; 11 AFV. There are 4 enemy units across the river just east of Chihkiang, but I don't know if they are moving into the city, digging in there, or moving somewhere else.

• That enemy division long ago expelled from Kweiyang then mauled by tac air is 1 hex NE of Chihkiang and heading SE. They could be heading for Chihkiang or they could be withdrawing to recover and rebuild.

• We have a division in hex at the roadblock site next to Kukong. Another division should be on site tomorrow.

• 1,013 AV at Kanhsien. Assault tomorrow.

• Amoy is repairing soooo slowly. Lack of engineers. Clearing that primary road will help.

I should improve the way I post that. That's just the day to day, so it was just -8 for me +8 for Japan on the day. I'm closing in on 1.5 to 1.

• Enemy Tsuyung retreat continues. The closest enemy are now adjacent to the river. They appear to be awaiting reinforcements. Other enemy units a hex back are heading both toward them and angling to route around, possible those needed to have their destination adjusted.

• Tac air continues to slow the 19th JNAF AF Unit so our paras can catch them.

• 2,433 AV at Chungking. 3 days until all in place.

• 399 AV at Chihkiang. Recon shows: 3 units; 9,800 troops; 78 guns; 13 AFV. Assault tomorrow. Another 729 AV is beginning to slow march from Kweiyang (because they are recovering squads and Move mode seems to not recover squads at all or hardly at all).

• Kweilin only has ~5,100 troops. We are sending three light Bde/Rgt units to take it.

• Kanhsien is ours and the road is clear! Base forces are moving out by truck from Canton for Kanhsien and Amoy. Most of the armor in Kanhsien will move out now for Pucheng while one unit waits for the first of the other units (base forces or infantry) to arrive before moving out. Lots of artillery is also moving forward to Kanhsien by truck.

• Some of the units we moved out of Singapore to recover are moving to Malacca to relieve over stacking at Johore Bharu. Need good recovery conditions!

• 4,902 AV at Singapore. We are moving two more units out of Singapore to recover at Malacca. Of the units remaining in Singapore, most are fully recovered or very nearly so. I'll move units back in as they are nearly recovered and see where that gets us for AV, while letting units with lots of squads to recover stay at Johore Bharu or Malacca until they are more substantially recovered. Just for comparison, there are currently 635 AV at Johore Bharu (minus some in base forces), so an assault now could be back at 5,500 AV. I prefer to get that total higher so that as fortifications fall to level 3 and below (now 4) we can have more frequent assault to take advantage of the worsening condition of the defenders in those circumstances.

• Enemy Tsuyung retreat continues. There are now ~17,000 troops across the river from the roadblock.

• The roadblock itself is strong, with 1,037 AV. They are impeding roughly 50,000 enemy troops from easy access to the Chungking plain to get resupplied and participate in the battle for Chungking.

• The enemy JAAF unit just NW of Neikiang should be caught tomorrow by the paras. If they slip away the paras should be able to catch them on the road before the open a back hex side into our roadblock hex.

• 2,435 AV in Chungking. In 2 days the 85th Corps with 635 AV should arrive on scene.

• Our units moving on Kweilin will take a few days to get there.

• Chinese Army 3rd New Corps has arrived at the primary road hex near Kukong and will remain there to secure the road while the other infantry units move on. At least one enemy unit is leaving Kukong to the NW along the rail/road. The 2 infantry regiments expelled from Kanhsien are still between there and Kukong and are marching toward Kukong.

• Base forces will arrive in Kanhsien tomorrow. In 2 days the 2 infantry divisions which cleared the road will arrive on foot then transition to trucks for quick transit to Pucheng when the armored spearhead captures it. There is another infantry division farther behind moving on foot, and another boarding trucks at Hong Kong.

• The armored spearhead is 1 hex outside of Kanhsien and heading SE along the primary road. This routing seems to indicate there are no enemy blocking the road at present. I hope to get them to Pucheng before the Empire realizes that is the current objective.

• Amoy continues repairing slowly. A bunch of engineering units are assigned to Amoy and now moving in by truck, plus we will sealift in some construction regiments. One base force will arrive by truck and another 2 are being sealifted in from Haiphong. Amoy is 31 hexes from Tokyo, within normal range for the B-29B. Shanghai would be great for the other model B-29s whenever we capture it but Amoy together with Naha will allow us to have all our B-29B groups within normal range of Tokyo while the B-29-25 and remaining B-29-1 operate from the Marianas.

• Recon Manila: 28 units; 84,640 troops; 673 guns; 400 AFV. Recon Clark Field: 8 units; 17,780 troops; 124 guns; 146 AFV.

• Our para division is beginning to move on Cabanatuan.

• We have 1 Bde at Mauban. We have 1 armored squadron and 5 Bdes at Batangas with 2 more Bdes on the way.

• The general plan is for smaller forces to hold open Cabanatuan and Batangas while all the forces listed above move into Manila, giving us about 3 divisions worth of forces there. With the advantage of owning all hex sides to the south we might then move all the forces from Manila to Clark Field via Cabanatuan to capture that good defensive position and remove it as a redoubt for the larger enemy force at Manila.

China

• Bad news: level 8 fortifications with no fortification reduction. Good news: casualties inflicted on the defenders are adequate to overcome the defense if they continue. More good news: defender supply malus.

• Enemy Tsuyung withdrawal continues with tens of thousands crossing the river into our roadblock.

• The roadblock has 1,037 AV.

• One or more enemy units are moving west out of Chengtu, obviously to undermine our roadblock. Tomorrow the para division will take up position on the road 1 hex east of the roadblock to prevent compromise.

• 2,825 AV at Chungking. Will focus on continuing suppression of supply. Also will bring in 2 more large units in case the high fortification level wears down our current forces. Disruption among the units is max 30 but others in the 20's or teens. I estimate 3 days rest.

• Will begin bombing the airfield at Kienko with an eye toward supply destruction.

• Tuyun airfield is size 7 + 81%

• 147 AV at Kweilin.

• The first armored unit is 2 road hexes from Pucheng.

• A base force has arrived via truck at Amoy.

I forgot to check on the 12,000 pounder equipped RAF units. I want those!

Have lots of Zippos in service. I'm sure they helped a lot on Okinawa. The anti-soft rating of those things is awesome.

That's the Lancaster bomber carrying the Tallboy bomb. You should also tell your supply sergeant to get you a couple of dozen Grand Slam 22,000 pounders!

Not much help - the Lancaster B1 Spl arrives Oct 02, 1945. It is the only model that show the Tallboy bomb as armament, at least in Scenario 1.

I looked at the Industry/Troops/Armament pool and the only bomb that shows up when I filter for them is the A-bomb. So the bomb comes with the Lanc only, no imposters.

All the other Lanc marks in the arrivals list also appear Oct. 02, 1945. Their bomb load is HE and incendiary for city bombing.

• Battleship Anson is about 5 days out from Batavia, then 2 days to join the battleships near Singapore. We will certainly wait until then for the next ground assault.

• 4,613 AV at Singapore.

Philippines

• Continuing movement around Manila.

China

• Enemy Tsuyung withdrawal continues with almost 40,000 enemy troops across the river from our roadblock.

• The roadblock is secure and we have the para division guarding the hex behind the roadblock.

• Still one or more enemy units moving west out of Chengtu.

• 2,839 AV in Chungking.

• We are moving the two Aus brigades in Chungking around to close two of the hex sides and hopefully impede supply flow a little more.

• With luck, the Empire is crediting the drive which took Chihkiang with being more substantial than it was and will dedicate too many forces to defend that area.

• 249 AV at Kweilin. Another Bde will arrive tomorrow.

• Probably an enemy division at Kukong has railed to Changsha. There are about 27,500 troops at Kukong now.

• We should have 3 or 4 armored units in Pucheng tomorrow.

• Dedicated engineering units should begin arriving in Amoy tomorrow. Runways are repaired.

• Swatow now appears unoccupied. Chaochow recon shows 1 unit with 1,640 troops. Both have garrison requirements for the Allies so I don't want them to both be abandoned and filled with partisans before we can get our own troops there.

Overall

• Strategic points: 14,472

• +/- VP today: -14

• Allies VP: 79,770

• Japan VP: 53,923

• VP ratio Allies/Japan: 1.480 : 1

• I have been posting the Allies and Japan VP from the in-game menu. I noticed that the Tracker figures are sometimes a little different. From now on I will use the figures from Tracker, and the +/- VP from Tracker, and I am adding the VP ratio from Tracker. The Strategic Points tally (only posted for Allies) will continue to be from the in-game menu as there is no such tally in Tracker.
