Materials are automatically transported by freighters to any place they are needed so they should be the ones doing it. Depending on your hyperspace speed it might take a while for them to arrive.

Hm, is it a while now I have colonized the planet but there are no cargo ships moving to the planet or anything else. Nothing happens?SirHoraceHarkness wrote: Tue Mar 15, 2022 6:49 am Materials are automatically transported by freighters to any place they are needed so they should be the ones doing it. Re: How to get resources to new colonized planet to build a Spaceport?
I had a situation where the new colony was lacking a common resource and had only been delivered a tiny amount. I took manual control of the planets resource stockpile, made the stock allocation for that resource max and within a short amount of time a freighter came and delivered enough to start construction of the spaceport. After that I set it back to auto and it was fine. So give that a go.

Yeah that was a thing that I wished could be expandad on in DW2
Since only pretty developed Colonies have a chance to build Colony Ships in an realistic amount of time ( DW:U )
Why can't I put some storage and troop modules on the colony ship and take this to my new colony to give it a decent
headstart. Or at least give me half the ressources it took to build the colony ship instead of a view tonnes of fuel.
The fastest way to get ressources to a new colony was to build a construction ship and dismantle it at the new colony.
Should work in DW2 as well

Re: How to get resources to new colonized planet to build a Spaceport?
It is the private economies job to deliver enough goods.
It is the Stockpiles (usually Automated) Job, to set high enough limits. Including enough for ship and Spaceport construction.
Are they doing other stuff/are they stuck doing other stuff like retrofitting?

Is the planet in some nebula and your freighters do not have Ion Protection?Novaliz wrote: Tue Mar 15, 2022 7:15 amHm, is it a while now I have colonized the planet but there are no cargo ships moving to the planet or anything else. Re: How to get resources to new colonized planet to build a Spaceport?
I was able to build it after a long time. The problem was that I was not able to control the stockpile manually like EmperorOAkim said. In my case I could not enter a number for the stockpile. The arrows were also greyed out.zgrssd wrote: Tue Mar 15, 2022 2:13 pm It is the private economies job to deliver enough goods.

So it must be a bug:

I wonder that nobody cares that much because you literally can not build a spaceport on new planets a long time

Now that planets also function as a full shipyard the need for spaceports on every colony at the start is reduced so it doesn't bother me.Novaliz wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 4:21 pm So it must be a bug:

It's definitely a bug, but it seems to be somewhat rare. I haven't seen it in my games so far.Novaliz wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 4:21 pm So it must be a bug:

We also need resources to actually build the ships.
So by the time you can even build the Spaceport, you are barely able to use one!
It is also a slight advantage for Independant Colonies. they do seem to strath with enough resources to build a spaceport.
Re: How to get resources to new colonized planet to build a Spaceport?
Usually after starting a new planet I just wait a bit. By the time I go through my exploration ships, fleets, and other planets making sure everything is ok then the materials will be present on the new planet to build a spaceport. That would of course depend on whether you have any resource shortages, how far the resources have to travel, etc. But it's not been a big problem for me so far.

I just have the Advisors for "Base Construction" on "Suggest and Execute".Psycho78 wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 6:51 pm Usually after starting a new planet I just wait a bit. And ocassionally look at Ship Construction -> New Construction Yard Locations.

I don‘t care about building ships at colonies..zgrssd wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:55 pmWhy would we care?Novaliz wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 4:21 pm So it must be a bug:

I care because of Medical Centers and Entertainment.
A cheap minimum of +6 mood for my colony.
When the colony gets raider there is the Space Superiority Bonus to you troops
More Docking Bays, so cargo gets to the colony

If you only care about those support functions, why not ask for a cheaper Support base that can do all of that without needing shipyards?Emperor0Akim wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 10:22 amI don‘t care about building ships at colonies..zgrssd wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:55 pmWhy would we care?Novaliz wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 4:21 pm So it must be a bug:

Re: How to get resources to new colonized planet to build a Spaceport?
*points to different Ship Design Threads and Ship Class Naming*
I did.
In addition the question arose through the game mechanic that all resources have to be available at the planet where the construction is ordered.
You are suggesting a new Base Class which would run against the same obstacles.
In my book the Space Port allready fills this role. It is the planetary support base which is also able to build ships.
And I am using a cheapest parts, no extras, SSP Design for exactly this role
Regarding this I partly agree and suggest a Space Port and a Space Yard should be different facilities.
To Adress the Problem stated by the thread,
I see a few different solutions
- Add standard cargo to the colonizer
- Let Construction Ships built Space Ports
- Accept the Order and Issue an additional ressource order for this planet, start building when ready.

Re: How to get resources to new colonized planet to build a Spaceport?
Not 100% sure, but i think this is the way to build stations at new colonies. Go to the Policy Settings menu and open up the Construction tab. About mid-way down the list are options for the population numbers required before certain size space ports can be built. Adjust the limit so that its smaller than the size pop of the planet you want to build a station at. Then you should be able to assign a construction ship to build the station at the desired planet.

I currently am experiencing this bug. I've been missing 6 Cuprica on my 2nd colony since the beginning of the game. It's in the same system as my homeworld. I tried to manually control resource levels, but Cuprica is not listed lol. I checked 3 times.BTAxis wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:29 pmIt's definitely a bug, but it seems to be somewhat rare. It is a lot easier to build a cheaper station then a more expensive one.Emperor0Akim wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 4:45 pm *points to different Ship Design Threads and Ship Class Naming*

1. If on steam, verify the game filesImperiousLeader wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 7:28 pmI currently am experiencing this bug. I've been missing 6 Cuprica on my 2nd colony since the beginning of the game. 2. In the Stockpile UI, make sure you show all resources - not just the used ones.
3. Report it as a bug with this savegame that can reliably reproduce it.

Thank you! The work around on that thread in the link worked. I cared very much about building spaceports. They increase ship production and defense.Novaliz wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 4:21 pm So it must be a bug:
