Design Overview Size and Crew

Is there any reason why the Stats for Ship size and Crew Capacity are shown in opposite ways rather than in a constant format.

EG. Size shown as 289/375 ( i have 86 spare hull spaces left to use if necessary )

However Crew Size is shown as 90/62 ( showing I can have a further 28 crew on board ) Would it not be better to show this figure as 62/90 the same way as the ship size?
