I am having kind of an issue in my mid-game (although it is rather consistent, so I guess its my fault...).
The following happens:
1) I am having a lot of mining facilities getting just about all luxury resources one could want. The storage of the mines is overflowing - supply is not an issue
2) Some of the mines can be far away, some are very close
3) For some reason my goods don't reach my colonies - even if the mine is in the next system
4) There are next to no losses to pirates or fighting, attacks are minimal and not inhibiting my flow (tried bribing the pirates but to no avail in terms of logistics)
Now I have been watching my freighters for a while and I get the feeling they are just too few to keep up. Especially once there are mines that are far away. They fly forever to get something while the colony runs dry und just about everything. The only colony that is halfway consistenly supplied is my homeworld. But even that one is jumpy (which a homeworld should never be imho)
Now am I doing something wrong? Having mines far away shouldn't be a problem as this always happens once your empire grows.
Is there a way to increase the number of freighters? As they are part of the private economy I didn't really find a way to do so. The private economy sits on a pile of cash (> 2 billion) so money is not the problem.
Should I increase target stock to motivate my freighters to procure larger amounts per tour and therefore make fewer trips? How can I get the AI to be more "conservative" about stock keeping, or do I have to set it manually? Should I tinker on the freighter designs and make them faster with more cargo capacity?
Open to suggestions here. I'll post screens and the save if you tell me what you want to see
P.S. sorry if my english is a little bumpy. Not a native here
Cheers
