losses And OB turn 46

Virtually no activity happening so losses continue to drop, in fact both sides disabled manpower are in the minus I assume that is a good thing but to tell you the truth I was never certain what that meant.

62 planes lost to just 8 Soviets, totally unacceptable, there is going to be a shake up here.

Well I have finally got over the 3 million mark again should be happy until I read the Soviet figures.

AG North Turn 47

The Rain eases but I see no point moving until better weather, besides what little Armour I have is focused on the Moscow front so my Inf are not able to create any pockets.

I could certainly push them back one hex at time but in this weather it will drain my resources.

AG Centre Turn 47

So many Soviet Corps have sprung up all over the place along the front line.

This makes it all the more tougher being that bigger and harder to destroy even in pockets but on the plus side they have more men so while the number of units in pockets wont as big as in 1941 the destruction of 1 corps equals about 3 DIVS.

The Soviets are massing around Kharkov and Stalino I scattered amongst there newly formed Inf Corps a number of Tanks Corps, these units will be prime targets once the offensive begins.

Hopefully not long till better weather and I can begin.

Ground force loss at a minimal and this good.

Still losing more planes than the Soviets and I am not even doing much flying.

Well that's not good. the Soviet OB just ballooned out to almost 4.5 million men.

May 10th the rain is easing but the troops of Army Group North still have to wade through knee deep mud.

With limited roads and heavy growth Forrest its not going to be easy to move through let alone trap enemy units.

Quiet for the third week if memory serves me, everyone is keeping there heads down under cover from the sporadic air attacks.

Boredom is setting, troops getting restless as the days go by.

The Hungarian 2nd Army arrives and will be sent to reinforce the troops in the Taman Peninsula, this also may force the Soviets to redeploy troops away from Stalino.

The siege of Sevastopol continues, the way its looking I may not capture it by the bonus points deadline.

Well at least 6th Armee's supply situation is improving now its better than last week.

The only Armee really having a issue is 2nd Armee.

Losses And OB Turn 48

Losses on the ground remain the same for The Axis, while there was small spike for The read with destruction of that one unit up North and the usual attrition.

Air attacks also caused causalities but there was a price on both sides.

While The Soviets have high manpower numbers my Armoured figures are twice the number for now.

No attacks but ground forces are moving into position for the expected good weather next, units from 18th Armee begin to encircle The Syasstroy Fortress.

The soviets seem to be concentrating there forces around Vyshny Volochek sector.

In the 9th Armee sector the Red Army heavily reinforces there positions.

The weather has cleared somewhat, I will wait one more week then strike at Tula in the South and Kalinin in the North.

9th Armee launch a frontal assault to tie down Red Army units'

South of 3rd Pz there seems to be a salient forming around Orel, maybe a opportunity here to trap quite a few Soviet troops.

AG South Turn 49

I have started to push 4th Pz Armee closer to the front and also moved some Inf forward to capture lost territory in preparation for my attack on Kharkov.

I am also aiming to trap the two Tank Corps South of the city also.

There is also a chance to trap the enemy in front of Rostov however the weather there is not what I want it to be with mud and rain still here.

We are all set, plenty of everything, rail lines are in good order in most places right with the front line troops.

All we are waiting for now is the weather.

Well no real problems with the troops on the ground.

The Air war is a different situation, with Soviets losing less than me.

Russian OB breaks the 4.5 million mark, with a slight increase also in there armoured numbers.

Finally good weather and 18th Armee begins its assault on the port fortress and a drive towards Tikhvin.

Further south 16th Armee launches a few minor spoiling attacks to disrupt the defenders.

The Red Army takes heavy losses and many units route back into the country side.

Large scale attacks in the Moscow sector force the enemy back and create two small pockets, Borodino is captured.

South of 3rd Pz the attack on Orel begins, the soviet line is broken in a number of places with The Red Army taking heavy losses.

Two tank Corps are trapped as Army Group South advances towards Kharkov.

Along The Black Sea 11th Armee and 2nd Hungarian Army begin there own advance.

Losses and OB Turn 50

With over 128,000 casualties and over 600 AFV's destroyed in this first week of my major offensive, things are looking good.

Even better news in the Air with over 600 Soviet planes destroyed to my 100, this gives me a 6 to 1 rate.

The enemy OB is still high but with all the pockets to be eliminated the manpower numbers should start shrinking soon.
